I know that must of the people that are reading this post can’t spend money in a restaurant. The true is that only a few can spend money buying sushi and those who can will want to buy more sushi. With learning to prepare sushi rolls you will save money and you can repeat the sushi eating without spending a great deal of money.
There a lot of persons that believe that sushi making are complicated and they will not be able to prepare a sushi roll like those that you buy in sushi bars. Making sushi is not difficult at first can be a little complicated but with practice it will become very easy. The benefit of making your own sushi roll is that you can mix different ingredients of your likes.
In my experience the part that can be more difficult in the sushi making process is preparing the sushi rice. We will discuss how to make sushi rice in the rest of this post. For start to prepare sushi rice we need to find good sushi rice. Is possible to use any grain but the shorter grain is the bets for sushi rice. Also if you want to make great quality sushi you can use sushi rice. The rice that is branded for sushi, is more expensive but the results are great.
For the next step we need to measure the rice. The rice expands and with 1 cup of rice grains you will have 3 cups of cooked rice. Then rinse the grains like 5 times until the water is clearer. Then is time to put the rice in a rice cooker if you have one. For every 1 cup of rice use 1.15 cup of water. Put the water and rice in the rice cooker and let the rice cook for 25 minutes. If you don’t have a rice cooker then you need to put the water to boil and then add the rice. After the water start to boil, lower the heat to medium and simmer the rice for 20 minutes. After the 20 minutes lower the heat again to the lowest possible and let simmer for another 5 minutes. You have to be careful and watch the rice while is cooking because every stove is different and you can burn the rice if the heat is too high. After finishing the rice, let it cool without taking the lid and take the rice out with a spoon of wood. Then add the rice vinegar and you’re finish.
